Artificial Neural Network
A simplified model of the human nervous system, exhibiting abilities such as learning, generalization, and abstraction. An analyst who is familiar with a problem selects inputs and outputs. Then the artificial neural network assigns weights to the inputs and the functional form of the relationships between the inputs and outputs. A genetic algorithm is then applied to screen for success, allowing the best weighting schemes to survive to subsequent generations.
