Balloon
(1) The final payment on a bond or note that is substantially larger than preceding amortization payments. Balloon instruments feature an amortization schedule intermediate between a level payment amortized loan and a bullet loan in which the entire principal is paid at maturity. (2) A reference to an over- valued financial instrument or other asset.
