Bisection Method

A numerical method for finding the root of an equation. An analyst starts with two values that bound an interval that is certain to include the correct answer. The analyst divides the interval in half and tries the indicated value. If that value yields an answer that is too high, the analyst tries the midpoint of its value and the lower bound. If it yields an answer that is too low, the analyst tries the midpoint of its value and the upper bound, proceeding in this fashion until a solution is found.
