Clearing Corporation

The affiliate or subsidiary of a futures or securities exchange which clears trades and holds performance bonds (margins) posted by dealers to assure performance on their own and customers' futures and options obligations. Called a clearing house in the United Kingdom. See Options Clearing Corporation (OCC).
