Conditional Forward Purchase Contract

A forward agreement under which the long side of the contract has the right to cancel the purchase by paying a fee to the short on the contract maturity date. Alternatively, the cancellation fee can be eliminated if the trade price is sufficiently lower than the forward price. This contract and the conditional forward sale contract are variants of the break forward contract. See also Break Forward (diagram).
