Coupon Indexed Note

A variable rate note with the periodic coupon dependent on the performance of an embedded equity, currency, interest rate or commodity index option. One variation is called a Stock Market Annual Reset Term (SMART) Note. Also called Multi-period Strike Reset Option (MSRO). See also Commodity Interest- Indexed Note, Cliquet Option (1) (diagram).
