Emerging Market Warrants
|
Covered or guaranteed options or warrants on common stocks, stock baskets, indexes, or bonds traded in an immature market often characterized by some combination of restrictions on foreign ownership, discontinuous trading, inadequate investor protection, and/or limitations on currency convertibility. The creator or writer of these warrants insulates the buyer from some of these undesirable market characteristics in return for a warrant premium that is bigger than volatility alone can justify.
