Geometric Average
The nth root of the product of n observations or values.  Indexes based on geometric averages are uncommon since the index underlying the Value Line Index contracts was changed to an arithmetic average. A geometric average will be smaller than a corresponding arithmetic average unless all observations are equal. See also Mean.
