Index Warrants

Put and call options on an index or index futures contract with an original life of more than one year. Index warrants are issued by corporate or sovereign entities or cleared and guaranteed by option clearing houses. Pricing of these instruments in the market place often depends on investors' ability or inability to sell the warrants short or on the ability of new issuers to license an index to supply new warrants. Also called Equity Index Warrants.
