Irredeemable Debt Instrument

(1) A bond with a fixed maturity which is not subject to prior redemption by the issuer; (2) A perpetual financial instrument or an instrument with no fixed maturity, sometimes called debenture stock when issued by a corporate enterprise. This instrument is illustrative of the fine line between debt and equity securities.
