Middle Office

In contrast to the front office (sales production, corporate finance, etc.) and the back office (settlements, clearances, record maintenance, custody, etc.), the middle office is a term used to describe a group that draws on the resources of both the front and the back offices to manage the risk exposures and, often, the technology of a financial organization.
