The customer purchase and sale inquiries coming to a dealer. A large dealer may be able to offer more competitive terms on a larger fraction of the orders he sees because heavy order flow helps him judge the state of the market and increases the probability he will find the other side of a transaction soon without incurring large hedging costs.
