R
Reverse Stock Split
A change in corporate capitalization which increases the par value per share with a corresponding reduction in the number of shares outstanding and with no change in the common stock account. A reverse stock split is usually instituted when a company has viable operating prospects but so low a stock price as to lead investors to question its viability.
