Scenario Analysis

A risk measurement technique which revalues a position or portfolio at several distinct values of the underlying asset(s) within a specified interval, typically the current price plus or minus two or three standard deviations of daily or monthly moves. The emphasis is on estimating the profit or loss under specific circumstances, sometimes favorable, sometimes unfavorable. See also Simulation Analysis.
