Standard & Poor's-500 Depository Receipts (SPDRs-p

A warehouse receipt structure similar to the Toronto Exchange's TIPs which provides the investor with an interest in the holdings of a trust designed to track the return of the S&P-500 index. SPDRs were introduced by the American Stock Exchange as a replacement for their ill-fated index participations. They have become one of the fastest growing fund products in history.
