Standard Prepayment Assumptions

Standard monthly and annualized mortgage principal prepayment rates published by the Public Securities Association (PSA). While actual prepayment rates usually bear little resemblance to the PSA rates, the PSA rates provide a basis for comparison and discussion. Actual rates are often described as a percentage of the PSA rate.
