Theoretical Value

The value of an option as determined by a specific option model based on the model's input parameters. Another name for fair value. The term is occasionally used disparagingly to suggest a lack of substance to option value calculations. Disparagement may be appropriate if the option evaluator's assumptions or model specifications are unsound.
