Leverage Factor

The expected or actual percentage price change in value of an option or other derivative position in response to a one percent change in the cash value of the underlying. Equal to gearing if the option delta equals one. For all values of delta, leverage equals delta times underlying price divided by warrant or option price per underlying unit. Sometimes expressed as a ratio rather than as a percent. See also Lambda (L), Gearing, Elasticity.
