(1) The difference between the selling price of shares in some open end investment companies (mutual fund or unit trust) and the net asset value of the underlying securities. (2) A sales charge for investing in a fund or other financial instrument. (3) A discount on a contingent forward sale or similar agreement which finances the implied premium 'paid' for a break forward. See also Break Forward.
